A Shower Fit for a King

Backstory: 6 weeks ago Brittany calls from an undisclosed (because some of y'all are crazy) island wanting to know if we could help throw a baby shower for her friends. Ya know, casually throwing in that it's for Katelyn & Kane Brown, the baby's name is Kingsley, so naturally, a party fit for a King. Katelyn wanted Mexican food, but not a Mexican themed party...we'd go with purple for royalty & we needed somewhere secluded. It'd have to be midweek as the husbands are currently on tour, and we only had 2 dates to choose from.

FAST FORWARD

From barns to bars, Brittany & I sent venue options back and forth for days. Nothing felt quite right until we stumbled upon Graystone Quarry and absolutely fell in love. Right outside of Nashville, it's secluded enough for privacy, but close enough to the city for convenience. The incredible waterfall and rock formations make GQ the perfect backdrop for this King. Not only is GQ an absolute dream venue, but they are run by a phenomenal staff. They make coordinating a breeze, and I absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Now, on to our vendors- Brittany & I were sure to incorporate as many local Nashville vendors as possible. We are so grateful for each and every one of them! First of all, can you imagine how nerve wracking it must be to DJ a room full of A-list musicians?! Josh killed it!

My mouth is watering just thinking about this, but THE FOOD!!!

We wanted authentic Mexican, and what we got was off the chain!! Suzette and her team at Catering and Events by Suzette rocked out a taco station (these were no lie UHH-MAZING), an avocado toast station, a Mexican Popsicle station, a churro station & just so much more! I'm pretty sure I'm going to stop cooking and have her cater every night.

The AeroBar

You know with good food, you need top notch cocktails. The AeroBar was slinging drinks all night including our specialty cocktail, the Hibiscus Habanero Margarita. These people DROVE THEIR BAR, yes DROVE, right into the venue and setup in the middle of the dance floor!!

CAKE! OH MY GOSH. All the hands up for this one! Katelin Hayes Desserts created the most delicious almond cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. Again, one of those people I need in my kitchen every. single. freaking. day. Not only does she bake and design incredible cakes, Katelin also made those precious watercolor cookies that came in the party favors! This girl has talent!!

DECOR- The flowers were arranged by the oh so talented, Susan, in-house florist for Graystone Quarry. Hundreds of Dahlia & Garden Roses were picked from Natchez Glen, a local garden that allows you to cut your own stems. This is open to the public and Steve, the owner, takes you out into the field to pick your own flowers! How cool is that?! Check them out in Franklin, TN.

Another crowd favorite, the photo booth from Picture This was an absolute win! Brittany even mentioned needing to get one for her closet, because this thing was ridiculous! I'm talking no make-up, middle of getting highlights, head full of foils and this thing would have you looking like Adriana Lima. You need Picture This at your party.... or in your closet. Trust me.

I know you've seen that amazing boxwood photo wall behind the photo booth... that is all Southern Events Party Rentals!! You better believe I'm not creating crazy walls that take 12 hours anymore! They deliver, setup & take down. You can bet we will certainly be using this again! It doesn't stop there. They also provided the plates, cutlery and glassware, which were such high quality! You will be so impressed!!

The focal point of the night, Camille at Glitter & Lightning rocked out hundreds of balloons in our over-the-top staircase display! This was the perfect photo backdrop and has made it on basically everyone who's anyone's Instagram page in the last 12 hours. I've said it a hundred times, but you are a rockstar woman!!

& Of course, our guests couldn't go home empty-handed. All of the guests brought home gift boxes with monogrammed KB3 cookies & hand poured candles by The Perfect Little Life. Currently burning in my house, Abbey poured the most delicious smelling Eucalyptus & Peppermint candles!! SOOOO GOOD I'm going to need to order 10 more in the larger size!
